Sequor attended the South West Invasive Species Forum this week hosted by South West Water and South West Lakes Trust.
Our dog team – Lucy and River gave a demonstration to show how a conservation detection dog searches, how the handler works with the dog, and shows the passive indication when the target scent is located.
Sequor detection dog teams are highly trained and tested to be operational in the field to work alongside other survey methods.
Sequor Detection Dogs have been able to support South West Water and South West Lakes Trust in their biosecurity efforts through the use of highly trained conservation detection dog teams.
River and Sid (another of our fantastic dogs) have become part of the management for American Signal Crayfish, which have an incredibly negative effect on our rivers and water bodies! Not only do these invasive species damage our water courses they spread disease which is adversely affecting our endemic population of White-clawed Crayfish.
