Wednesday was a great day! We enjoyed a chat and ramble with 20 ecologists and land managers around Hense Moor SSSI, one of Devon’s premier sites, which forms a cornerstone of the Luppitt Landscape Recovery Project, funded by defra.
This site will continue to evolve, shaped by the interventions of people, cattle, and beavers. With shifting boundaries and uncertain outcomes, discussions included how to map and set future targets, when complex mosaics, natural dynamism and unpredictability are parts of what makes the site so special.
With grateful thanks to our hosts: Luppitt Landscape Partnership and Luppitt Commons Trustees, and our guides for the day including Phil Wilson MCIEEM, Marian Reed, and Erin Reardon and George Greenshields of Ecologic Consultants.
