The cliffs and intertidal reefs around Watchet are protected as part of the Blue Anchor to Lilstock Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) which is designated for its nationally important geological exposures and fossils.
Geckoella organises fossil walks to Helwell Bay from the Watchet Visitor Centre in Harbour Road. These mostly run during the school holiday periods but please refer to the schedule in our office window at East Quay and contact the Visitor Centre (01984 632101, www.lovewatchet.co.uk) for more information and to make a booking.
