Geckoella Ltd is an ecological and geological consultancy based in south west England, working across the UK and beyond. We are currently recruiting for Seasonal Ecologists. The successful applicants will work on a range of protected species and habitat surveys and reporting, alongside involvement in project management and other tasks.

As well as a competitive salary, Geckoella Ltd offers CPD tailored to each individual team member, through structured and unstructured learning and involvement in different aspects of project delivery. Equipment will be provided.

The Seasonal Ecologist positions comprise a fixed term contract to start March 2018 until September 2018 (initially 6 months with possible extension). Location flexible; Somerset / Bristol / Glos to Midlands area preferred (this is where we do most of our work).
There is likely to be frequent night work and working away from home.

Essential skills
Ecological survey and reporting experience
An appetite to learn and develop ecological survey and data management, analysis and reporting skills
Excellent IT skills incl mobile devices.
Excellent communication skills across a range of media
Adaptable, ability to use initiative and work on your own with minimum supervision
Demonstrable understanding of H&S and RAs, and ability to contribute to strong H&S culture
Proven experience of project work and self-organisation
Degree qualified in relevant Ecology/Environmental Discipline and/or Associate CIEEM

Essential Practical requirements
Home workbase with excellent broadband
Full UK driving licence and access to car for business use
Ability to carry out fieldwork including during unsociable hours at sites throughout the UK

CSCS card
Protected Species survey experience
Graduate or Associate member of CIEEM
Habitat classification (phase 1) and botanical ID skills

Salary in the range of £16-19K pro rata dependent on skills and experience.
